Stopping your SOS Villaggi dei Bambini donation

SOS Villaggi dei Bambini is the Italian member of the international SOS Children's Villages federation, with its supporter office in Milan (Via Durazzo 5). Many people give through Sostegno a Distanza (long-distance child sponsorship) or a regular gift collected by SEPA direct debit (addebito diretto, formerly RID). You may stop supporting at any time — what matters is that your cancellation reaches the Milan office in writing and that the direct debit is revoked. Through DisdetteOnline.it we send it with proof of receipt, so you know it has arrived.

You can end your support whenever you choose

A donation is not a fixed-term contract. A Sostegno a Distanza commitment or a regular gift can be ended whenever you choose, without giving a reason — you are supporting voluntarily. Simply state clearly that you want your recurring donation to SOS Villaggi dei Bambini to stop.

Revoke the SEPA direct debit (addebito diretto)

For recurring donors there are two steps, and it helps to do both:

• Tell SOS Villaggi dei Bambini in writing that you are ending your gift;
• Revoke the SEPA mandate (addebito diretto) with your Italian bank, so no further amount is collected.

Doing both means a payment cannot slip through after you thought you had stopped. DisdetteOnline.it handles the written cancellation to the Milan office for you.

Put it in writing and keep proof

A gift rarely has a formal notice period, but a cancellation you cannot prove can be missed — and a further amount may be debited. Sending your notice by registered post with proof of receipt removes that risk. That is exactly what DisdetteOnline.it arranges.
